I would like to introduce myself; my name is Kamilah Gordon and I am the Parent Liaison for Moore Elementary. A Parent Liaison works to bridge the gap between home and school by assisting parents in understanding ways they can help their children with academics.

During this school year, you will have an opportunity to attend parent workshops that will be offered at flexible times.  Please look for information throughout the year regarding these workshops.

If you are looking for additional resources to assist your student at home, please check our website or visit our school Parent Resource Center located in the Media Center. Open during school hours, parents can browse through our assortment of: games, manipulatives, brochures, pamphlets and handouts to find wonderful resources to work with your child at home. Please feel free to contact me any time if you need support or information on how to improve your child's academic performance in school.

Moore Testing Pep Rally!

Thank you to the families who were able to attend our recent Testing Workshop/Pep Rally! We appreciate your time and partnership in supporting our students as they prepare for upcoming assessments.

For families who were not able to attend, we want to share a quick recap of the important information that was covered:

  • Overview of the Georgia Milestones Assessment – what students can expect and how the test is structured

  • Tips to support your child at home – including establishing routines, encouraging effort, and building confidence

  • Testing day reminders – the importance of being on time, getting a good night’s sleep, and eating a healthy breakfast

  • Ways to reduce test anxiety – positive encouragement and reassurance go a long way

We also had a great time celebrating and encouraging our 3rd–5th grade scholars as they get ready to show what they know!

As always, thank you for your continued support. We are proud of our students and know they will do their best! 💙
