I would like to introduce myself; my name is Kamilah Gordon and I am the Parent Liaison for Moore Elementary. A Parent Liaison works to bridge the gap between home and school by assisting parents in understanding ways they can help their children with academics.

During this school year, you will have an opportunity to attend parent workshops that will be offered at flexible times.  Please look for information throughout the year regarding these workshops.

If you are looking for additional resources to assist your student at home, please check our website or visit our school Parent Resource Center located in the Media Center. Open during school hours, parents can browse through our assortment of: games, manipulatives, brochures, pamphlets and handouts to find wonderful resources to work with your child at home. Please feel free to contact me any time if you need support or information on how to improve your child's academic performance in school.

2025-2026 Parent and Family Engagement Handbook

January Parent Workshop

Thank you to all the families who joined our January parent workshop, “Today’s Motivation, Tomorrow’s Achievement.” During the session, we talked about simple but powerful ways parents can support learning at home. We shared practical study tips like setting a consistent homework routine, creating a quiet learning space, and breaking big tasks into smaller steps. We also discussed homework support strategies, including asking questions that get children thinking rather than just giving answers. A big focus was on student motivation, encouraging effort, celebrating progress, and helping children set small, reachable goals to build confidence. Finally, we highlighted the importance of daily attendance, since being at school consistently has a direct impact on academic success. We’re excited to continue partnering with you to help every scholar grow and achieve!.
