The 2025-26 GSCS Teachers of the Year were recognized at the Kiwanis Club of Griffin luncheon on Sept. 24. GSCS District Teacher of the Year Jodi McGavin shared her educational journey and story. Thank you, Kiwanis Club of Griffin, for celebrating these exceptional educators!

The Griffin-Spalding Partners in Education (PIE) raised almost $25,000 during its 24th annual golf tournament to benefit the teachers and students of the Griffin-Spalding County School System (GSCS). Thirty-six teams played in the tournament held at the City Park Golf Course on Friday, September 26. Proceeds from the tournament are used to fund classroom grants, field trip grants and teacher tuition reimbursement scholarships. This year’s first-place team was SRS Inc.; the second-place team was Jackson Road Elementary; and the third-place team was the Griffin Exchange Club. Read more: https://5il.co/3qh4a

This month, all GSCS schools will help fight hunger in our community by participating in the Manna From Above Food Drive. You can help by sending canned goods to school with your students this month.

GSCS is excited to share that our Fall Fling 5K and Bazaar will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025! Register to participate in the 5K or just plan to come shop from our employee vendors. The event proceeds will benefit staff and teacher appreciation initiatives throughout the district.

✨📏 Our 1st Grade Scholars rocked math today with their clothing number line activity! By adding their parts of the “clothing line,” they showed off their place value skills while making abstract math concepts tangible and fun! 🌟🧮

All GSCS schools & offices will be closed on Monday, September 1, 2025, in celebration of Labor Day.
